This behavior is resolved in the 2022-02-16 deploy.
Description |
---|
Teachers without permission to add and remove a student from the course cannot manage the student’s sections with the Users - manage students in course permission enabled as described in our documentation. Attempting to do so results in an unauthorized error.
Expected Behavior |
---|
Teachers should be able to edit a student’s sections in their course with the Users - manage students in course permission enabled.
Workaround |
---|
enable Users - add/remove permissions
Steps to Reproduce |
---|
Create a custom course role based off Teacher permissions with the Users - Students add/remove permissions disabled
Create a course with two sections with a custom teacher role and a student enrolled in the first section
As the teacher, attempt to add the student to the second section
Note that you receive a “something went wrong updating the user’s section. please try again later” and “oops the last request didn’t work out” error message and that the change did not occur
