When the Submit assignment button is pushed on a File-upload type assignment, without the Assignment Enhancements enabled, before any file selected, the Upload file (and Use Webcam) buttons become unresponsive.

Expected Behavior

Instead it should not allow users to push the button or give the user a banner error and not disable everything until the page is refreshed.

Workaround

The user needs to reload the page.

  1. Create a file upload type assignment and Save & Publish it

  2. Masquerade as the student

  3. Start the assignment

  4. Click on Submit Assignment

  5. Observe that the Upload file option is no longer responsive
