If an admin does not have permission to edit grades, when the admin changes the 'Display Grade as' setting and saves, the grade displays incorrectly on the student grades page and student submission page, e.g. 9/10 points will show as 9% on the student grades page.

Expected Behavior

The 'Display Grade as' setting should probably be excluded from the assignment settings if they do not have permission to edit grades.

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Prerequisite: Have at least one admin in account. 'Grades - edit' should be disabled for the admin in account permissions. 'Assignments and Quizzes - add / edit / delete' should be enabled. Have at least one published course in the same account that the admin was added to. Have at least a teacher and a student enrollment. Have at least one assignment with 'Display Grade as' set to points.

  1. Grade the assignment submission as the teacher

  2. As the admin, navigate to /edit on the assignment

  3. Change the 'Display Grade as' setting from points to percentage

  4. Navigate to the student grades page or the student submission page

  5. Note that the grade being shown is incorrect
