New Quizzes essay question auto-submitted at due date returns misleading error

When a New Quizzes assessment containing essay questions is auto submitted after the due date, it returns a "Time is up. Answer not saved." error message. This is misleading because the answers are in fact saved correctly, even if the student is answering an essay question when the quiz is submitted.

Expected Behavior

The message we show when a New Quizzes attempt is submitted should not suggest that answers are not saved when they are, especially with essay type questions.

Ignore the error message.

Steps to Reproduce

Pre-requisite: Have a published course

1. Create a New Quiz assessment with a deadline date/time, an essay question and a short time limit
2. As a student, start the quiz and ensure that the time limit will be up after the deadline (can be a couple of minutes)
3. Answer the essay question and stay on the page until the timer is up
4. Allow the quiz to auto submit and DO NOT click the "Submit" button
5. Observe the red error message that comes up at the top of the "Time is up" screen
