[OPEN] Grading todo notifications for resubmissions do not immediately clear after grading

Description

 

To-do notifications for resubmitted assignments do not clear after the resubmission has been graded.

This misleads instructors who return to the dashboard after grading into thinking that there is another submission still in need of grading.

Expected Behavior


The needs grading notification should clear immediately after the triggering submission has been graded if no new submissions have been made.

Workaround


Suppress the notification or navigate away from the dashboard again and return.

Steps to Reproduce

 

  • Have a course with at least one teacher and one student enrolled

  • Have an assignment that has previously been submitted to by the student

  1. Log in as student and make a resubmission on the assignment

  2. Log in as teacher and go to dashboard

  3. Click on the to-do notification to go to the resubmission

  4. Grade the resubmission

  5. Return to the dashboard

  6. Note that the to-do list item is still there
