[OPEN] Stimulus in Item Banks cannot be edited once they are used in a quiz

Description

When a stimulus item in an Item Bank is used to asses students, the stimulus is not able to be edited from the Item Bank.

Expected Behavior

  • User should be able to edit Stimulus or be prompted to edit a copy.

  • When attempting to edit a used question in an Item Bank warning dialog is shown: “Some students have already submitted answers for this question! You can apply your edits to a copy of this question which will only be seen by students that have not taken the assessment.“

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

Prerequisites:

  • Have an active course with active student enrollments.

  • Have an Item bank that contains a Stimulus.

  1. Create a New Quiz and add a stimulus and questions from an Item Bank.

  2. Act as student and submit an attempt to the quiz.

  3. Stop acting as user and navigate to course Item Banks.

  4. Open the Item Bank and edit the Stimulus.

  5. Note that you are unable to edit the contents of the stimulus question.
