[OPEN][iOS] Student | Users logged in on root account in a Consortia are unable to access PDFs for annotated assignment submissions

Description

  • Users who are logged in under the root account in a Consortia environment are unable to access PDFs for annotated submission assignments. Instead, they receive an error - “Unable to Display Document - The file you’re trying to access is either not a PDF file or might be corrupted.” Students logging in on the child instances are successful in accessing the same file.

Expected Behavior

  • Users logged in at the root account in a consortia should be able to access annotated submission assignments

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a Canvas course in a Consortia with at least one student

  2. Create and publish an assignment in the course that is a “student annotation” submission type

  3. Save and publish the course

  4. Log in as the student on the mobile app in the root Instance (apac-consortia)

  5. Navigate to the course and see that attempting to submit to the assignment causes an error
