The CALENDARS and UNDATED buttons in the calendar sidebar to the right look like headers, but, because they are not nested in headers, they are not accessible via header shortcuts in screen readers.

Expected Behavior

Content which appears as headers should be accessible as headings via the heading shortcuts. The buttons should be nested in header tags.



  • Navigate to CALENDARS and UNDATED buttons with the tab button.

  • VO: Control + Option + Command + J - Forms (buttons, check boxes, combo boxes, edit fields, and radio buttons)
    Note: Nav until you get the prompt to use agenda view for improved accessibility, and then use forms/rotor nav.

  • VO: You can use the Rotor by pressing Control + Option + U > left/right arrows

  • NVDA/JAWS: B - Buttons and/or F - Forms (includes buttons, check boxes, combo boxes, edit fields, and radio buttons)

  • NVDA/JAW: List buttons/forms


Steps to Reproduce



  1. Using VoiceOver on the Calendar page, click Command + F5 to turn on VO.

  2. Click Control + Option + Cmd + H to get to the next header on the page until you arrive at the last header (month and year in the mini calendar in the upper right.
