Description

When accessing Student View on the iOS Canvas Teacher app with the Canvas Student app closed, you're directed to the Canvas Student app and an error is thrown.

Error:

1user not authorized to perform this action

The error can be dismissed and Student View can be used regularly.

Expected Behavior

Accessing Student View shouldn't throw an error and be a smooth transition from the Teacher to the Student app. It shouldn't be dependent on the student app already running on the device as well.

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

Pre-requisites: Course with a user enrolled as a Teacher.
(May have to clear app cache for both apps before testing)

  1. Log in as the Teacher and access any course.

  2. Click the Student View course navigation link.

  3. Notice the error once you're directed to the Canvas Student app.
