Will Quizzes.Next replace existing Quiz tool?

Hi,

Will Quizzes.Next replace the current Quiz tool?  Also, when creating a question I did not see a rich text editor and I was not able to upload media.  Any consideration on adding such functions?  Additionally, I was not able to preview the quiz like I can currently with the existing Quiz tool.

During the Quizzes.next keynote in July 2016, it was explained that the two quiz engines will co-exist for a period of time, and a migration path will be shared with faculty for moving quiz questions (but not quiz attempt data) from old to new.   

After a period of time, the old quiz engine will be discontinued.   

All of this will be documented, but none of it has yet been documented.   Expect information on all of this when Quizzes.next is formally released for production.

Just as a followup, we've posted a timeline for the New Quizzes transition on the home page of the Quizzes user group: User Group: New Quizzes 

The timeline is subject to change, but it will give you an idea of where we're at.
