Essay question type migration issue

For essay question in classic quizzes, we place answers to each question in General answer comments. When it's migrated to new quizzes, the comments are not found anywhere. Should it appear in Grading Notes? Our teachers rely on the notes to grade essay questions. Additionally, when creating an essay question in the new quizzes, is the answer supposed to be placed within Grading Notes? Grading notes seems to only allow text. We need to be able to enter graph and math symbols for our math assessments.
