Migration Multiple Choice Bug, Old to LTI

Jump to solution

We are testing out the migration of quizzes from the old Quizzes to the new Quizzes LTI for future deployment. One of my quizzes is structured as 30 Multiple Choice questions with each question having two possible answers. When I export out the quiz and then import it into Quizzes LTI, each of the questions automatically converts to a True/False question. The original Multiple Choice questions did not use "True" or "False" as the actual answers. Has anyone else had issues with Quizzes LTI changing the question type on an import? Are there any best practice for making sure the quizzes move over correctly? Any information from the devs would be grateful as well. Thanks.

Hi patrickconlan‌,

This issue is due to an incomplete sub-feature when handling certain edge cases during migration. The underlying processes for migration leverage the Common Cartridge standard, which has an unfortunate amount of room for ambiguity. We are working to remove and mitigate this ambiguity where possible and in the future this issue should be resolved.

In the meantime your workaround would be to add another choice to these questions before migrating.

Sorry for this inconvenience and thank you for the feedback -- it helps the beta process.
