Respondus Lockdown Browser and Quizzes LTI

Jump to solution

Our school has a site license for Respondus Lockdown Browser/Monitor, and this tool is heavily utilized by our faculty.  As Beta testers, we did expect that RLDB would not work with Respondus due to its very nature, but what we did not expect was that Respondus had reached out to Instructure quite a while ago to start collaborative development of an integration that would work, and yet Instructure has not come back to that table (According to Respondus).

When can we anticipate that work will start on a new  RLDB integration?

Thank you,

Kelley

Hi Kelley, Respondus gave you accurate information, but not for lack of wanting an integration.  There were initial discussions with Respondus about how Quizzes.Next would be structured and then an agreement to get back in touch with Respondus once it was developed and ready for integration.  We're nearing that time!

Thanks for the follow-up,  @Renee_Carney ‌!

Any chance this would occur at the Assignment level, not specific to Quizzes.Next? I have a school that might like to apply RLDB to an Assignment, not a Quiz.

Hi  @Renee_Carney ‌, any progress on the work with Respondus?

Like Kelley's school, ours also uses our sitewide license for RLBD/Monitor on a very regular basis. We really would like to see this compatibility established before we go live with Quizzes.Next.

That is one of our hold-ups on using Quizzes.Next as well. Simply not being able to use Respondus LockDown Browser makes many of the instructors not want to even try quizzes.next.

We just started using Lockdown browser and it not working with quizzes.next will definitely hinder our ability to make the switch from the current quizzes.

I second what  @kona  said. She and I work with an area of our college that has extremely high security in everything, and they depend on LockDown Browser for the security their testing needs. If it won't work with the new Quizzes.Next feature, that will not be good for us or that area that uses it so heavily.

Has anyone heard an update on this? Especially now that Quizzes.next is in "General Availability"?
