Problem Statement:
We have multiple credentials where the course details are the same, however the certificate has a different template. We don't want to offer the user a choice of certificates (they are branded per client) so need to adopt this structure. We would like some way to easily distinguish which credential we are looking at without opening the certificate settings. Is it possible that there is a title for a credential that is only visible to backend users?
Hi Dan,
Support actually sees what the user sees with a few more hidden options, but none that relate to this. If you go under the issuer (edit issuer), you can set which certificate you'd like to be used for that issuer.
You can also do the same by editing the badge and going to "print certificates" and assign the specific certificate to that badge and that badge only. Here are some instructions on how to accomplish this.
1. Go to the issuer and select the ellipsis on the right and then "edit issuer"
2. Go to the "Print Certificates" tab
3. Enable the certificate you'd like to use and select "save" at the bottom
This will enable the certificate for that issuer. You will then need to follow the same steps on the badges you'd like to enable this certificate for:
1. Select the badge and select the ellipsis on the right and then "edit badge"
2. Go to the "Print Certificates" tab
3. Enable the certificate you'd like to use and select "save" at the bottom
You can also disable certificate that you don't want the awardees to use.
The naming convention for custom certs is provided by the user/organization. The default certificate names cannot be changed.
I hope this helps. If you need more information, please reach out to us at support@badgr.com
Hi,
Apologies, I don't think perhaps I was clear in my initial request. I am talking about the Credential/Badge title, not the Certificate title. The title that appears when you go into an issuer and see which badges have been set up. For example, imagine we had two badges called "Learning to code", each was linked to a different course in Canvas but had different certificates associated. I don't think we can tell which course the Badge is linked to within Credentials unless we edit each one individually and check the setup to see which certificate they have been assigned as the template. Is there a way that the learners are awarded badges called "Learning to code", but in the administration end we could call it "Learning to code - Company x" and "Learning to code - Company Y", for example.
