Data retention policy
We are hosted on AWS, with continuous point-in-time backup and recovery. In addition, we have real-time failover from AWS-West to AWS-East, as well as automatic load detection and balancing.
eLumen uses a combination of full backups of client data each time an update is made to the client environment and differential backups (differential backup contains all of the data that has changed since the last full backup.) Suppose for example that you wanted to create a full backup on Monday and differential backups for the rest of the week. Tuesday's backup would contain all of the data that has changed since Monday. It would therefore be identical to an incremental backup at this point. On Wednesday, however, the differential backup would backup any data that had changed since Monday. We can provide clients with a full restore of data to specific points in time.
Incident management program, policy, and testing
eLumen does provide notifications and alerts that go to both the eLumen internal Inbox feature as well as to institutional emails (as configured in SIS integration).
However, in the case of a disaster or incident, eLumen customers benefit from a multi-tiered support structure including 24/7 monitoring provided by AWS/Qualys and internal network monitoring provided by Alert Logic. They support high availability and point-in-time recovery, as well as continuous security and performance review. providing extensive monitoring and protection against intrusion. We have staff members on-call all hours of the day to respond to server alerts and send out notifications to any client affected.
In addition, we use a combination of Zendesk and Jira to track and assign all activities to an assigned customer success manager who for all incidents, directs a team to diagnose, escalate and resolve the incident and stay in communication with the client.
And lastly, eLumen provides both physical and logical security of the application and the data. eLumen uses Amazon Aurora High-Availability instances on Amazon Web Services.
