How do I message other users on Portfolium?

Your Portfolium account includes a messaging tool so you can communicate with other members directly on Portfolium. You can send messages directly from another user's profile or from your inbox. Please note that to message a user you must be connected with that user.

Some Portfolium messages can be replied to from your email inbox, without the need to log in to Portfolium. Currently, the following message types can be replied to from your external email:

  • New message thread
  • Reply to a message thread
  • Message from an employer
  • Comment left on your entry or an entry you're tagged in

Locate and open the profile of the user you want to message.

In the Profile header, click the Message button.

Add Recipients

Add Recipients

In the Compose Message window, you can view and add recipients to the message. The recipients field will automatically include the user whose profile you opened [1]. To add additional recipients, start typing the name of the person you want to include in the recipients field [2] and click their name when it displays in the search results [3].

Enter the details for the message. In the Subject field [1], enter a subject for your message. In the Body field [2], enter the full contents of your message.

When you have entered all the message details, click the Send button [3].

Open Inbox

To view your Inbox and respond to messages, click the Notifications link [1] and then click the Messages link [2].

View Inbox

Messages you have received will display in the sidebar [1] and the full message will display in the message pane [2]. To respond to the message, type your message in the message field [3] and then click the Send button [4].

To delete a message, click the Delete icon [5].
