Looking for suggestions on software that students could use to draw math equations on a WACOM tablet or tablet computer and include the equations in the submissions for a math assignment. What would be cool is to have a student click an LTI button in an assignment and open/embed an object in the assignment page that they can edit/draw on with the tablet. Then they'd close that page (or multiple pages) and submit the assignment. We're looking for this for math assignments in departments that teach quantitative topics. Any ideas?
Just to keep this thread alive, I'm in the same situation- I've got students with iPads using the Canvas app and I've got a math teacher who would love to allow students to show their work using the iPads drawing tool via finger or stylus. Does anyone have any successes in this endeavor in an iOS environment? Thank you!
Hey, Scott. I'm supposed to be teaching a number theory course to inservice elementary school teachers this spring -- which means going online. My university uses Canvas and I'm trying to figure out whether I should get an iPad for writing math, including diagrams, more easily. So I'm wondering what you've figured out since September.
You could use a graphics tablet with any program, probably even Paint / whiteboard app , for actually doing ( write with digital pen ) the math on screen. I teach using a XP-PEN Star G960S digital tablet and OneNote , Zoom .
