Attendance Link

Hello Fellow Canvas Users,

I've been encountering the response below every time I am trying to access the Attendance Link in some of my courses (not all). Does any of you encountered the same in the past and if yes, who should I ask to address this issue?

"The OAuth signature was invalid. Please be sure you are launching this tool from the link provided in Canvas."

First, I want to apologize for your question sitting in the community for so long without a response.

Second, it looks like you have stumped the Canvas Community.  Were you able to find an answer to your question? I am going to go ahead and mark this question as answered because there hasn't been any more activity in a while so I assume that you have the information that you need. If you still have a question about this or if you have information that you would like to share with the community, by all means, please do come back and leave a comment.

Hi Robbie, 

I am a professor and am having the same exact issue when I try to access the attendance link for my two Canvas courses, please see attachment. I have tried logging in using Chrome, Firefox, and Safari and have the same problem each time.   Can you advise any work around for this to get solved? Accessing the attendance link is fairly critical for my ability to use Canvas effectively.  Please let me know.

Good afternoon, @KatShannon …

Have you tried either contacting your school’s local Canvas administrator or someone from your school’s Online Learning/eLearning department about this error?  Alternatively, have you tried reaching out to the Canvas Support folks to report this?  That is where I would start when encountering an issue such as this.  How do I contact Canvas Support?

Also, have you used the relatively new attendance reports within New Analytics?  That might be something to investigate as well.  You can find more information about this using the Guide: How do I view the Online Attendance report in New Analytics?.

Hello- thank you for your response! I have tried to reach out to my university IT support, but unfortunately have not had success hearing back from them- due to Covid there are staff shortages.

My university additionally doesn't have "Submit A Ticket" or "Report A Problem" enabled on the "Help" button on Canvas- is there is another way I can contact Canvas Support other than using those routes?

Lastly- I'm also not able to view the New Analytics page- please see attachment for notice I get when trying to open this page.
