Attendance

I have been using the Attendance tool, thinking it would just be helpful for me to keep track of attendance and let the students see how much class they have missed. I don't intend to tie attendance to grades at all, but now I see that attendance is being factored into my students' grades. I cannot find any way to make attendance not count towards their grade. Is there a way to do this that I am missing? Please advise...

Hello  @eggplant_47  Welcome to the Canvas Community.  Thanks for posting your question.  When you enable the "Attendance" button in your course, you should then see an assignment in your "Assignments" index page called "Roll Call Attendance".  Click on that assignment name, then click on "Edit".  You should be able to but a check in the box for "Do not count this assignment towards the final grade".  Be sure to "Save" your changes.  I hope this helps, Andrea.
