Avoiding Imported Assignments Category

Is there a way to import an assignment from another course and not have it go into the Imported Assignments category but rather stay with it's original category?

Yes - sometimes the assignment imports with the category, sometimes switches to imported assignment.  I can't Identify what I do differently.
