Block previous partner from course

I created a 2-week Canvas course last year with a partner. This year I (alone) have to extend that 2-week lesson to 4 weeks. Is there a way I can block this course so that the previous partner cannot go into it and delete or make changes. And, can I save the course on a USB flash drive or download it to my computer?

Hi Sheila,
Rather than trying "lock out" your partner, I'd recommend making a copy of the course, so you can edit it however you like to accommodate the different courser schedule without losing any of the work (including student coursework) from the previous version of the course.

You can also export and save a course to a file, though the only thing you can really do with the Canvas export file is import it into another Canvas course. There are instructions for exporting and importing Canvas course export files at:
