Can I change the Assignment type to my SIS required title if submissions are already graded?

I forgot to put in the new category for assignment type that would allow grades to sync to Skyward for my district. I know now how to do it-but I already have 10 grades in the Canvas gradebook. Will it allow me to go in and change the Assignment to my new label Intm and not mess up grades or submissions?
