Can I change the colors of a late assignment that is still pending grading (after the new gradebook update)?

In the new guide book update, there have been A LOT of colors and I like that fact that we can edit the colors; however, I would like to change the color of a late assignment that has been graded to a late assignment that is still pending grading.

Is there a way to do this at once versus going into each and every assignment, even late, and changing the color? We have over 1000 students who can turn things in after suggested pacing due dates and looking for grading icons in blue squares in a sea of already blue squares is really difficult on the eyes.

 @mattyoung , greetings! On the front end of Canvas, I'm not aware of a way of doing this. Have you been able to figure anything out since posting your question?
