I keep "closing" this Module list, but it defaults back to "open" when I navigate away and come back to Modules. Is there a way to get it to "stay closed" until I click to open it again? I don't want to lock it. I just want to get it out of my way on the page. Thanks!

Hi whitney.clay@westvalley.edu - Unfortunately not. You can join the 250+ people who also think this would be a good idea by voting "up" and also (if you want) comment on this Feature Idea: https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/1278-modules-display-as-collapsed-by-default . Hope this helps a bit, even if it's not the answer you're looking for.

whitney.clay@westvalley.edu you can also check out this blog post regarding adding custom CSS and Javascript to your environment to make this the default view. https://community.canvaslms.com/groups/canvas-developers/blog/2018/07/05/collapse-expand-modules
While the code snippets in that blog post may be fine for some schools, I believe that code would be applied in the global CSS and JavaScript areas of a school's Canvas account...which means that it would apply for every single course in that school's Canvas environment. Some instructors may not want their modules collapsed by default. So, I would think that local Canvas admins would want to discuss this and any possible ramifications before implementing in their own Canvas environment.
Thank you for the blog link, Gretta. I can't wait to test it out!
