Can an observer sign up for an appointment that was created by Scheduler in the Calendar?

We are looking to create online signups for our Parent/Teacher Conferences and it looks like the Scheduler in the Calendar would be perfect.  However, the Canvas Guide only mentions that students can sign up.  Can a parent sign up if they are an observer in the course?

hottingert, I'm guessing since your feature idea on this - - will be open for voting in the next round that this isn't possible!

Kona, you are correct. For those in K-12, this would allow parents the ability to sign up for conferences. I don't know how difficult it would be for this feature to be enabled but it sure would be nice.
