Can't Download PDFs within Assignments?

There are various PDFs attached within my online orientation course, and they show no preview on the page. When I click on the PDF's title, it gives me three options: download, log in, or sign up. When I click download, nothing happens. When I click sign up, it tells me www.box.com refused to connect. This led me to go to box.com myself and create an account, however when I click log in, it allows me to put in my email but then says 'the page you were viewing has expired.' I'm unsure if this inability to download a PDF is a problem with Canvas or Box, but it will need to be resolved to view documents in my courses. I'm using Google Chrome and going through ASU's Canvas.
