Canvas with iPad 4

Is Canvas compaitabe with iPad 4?

i am not able to open canvas dashboard in iPad 4 Safari browser.

Hi,

I'm a newbie to Canvas, and I've already gotten lots of questions answered on the community -- wanted to give back a little since I happen to also have an iPad 4 hanging around.I tried both Chrome and Safari with similar results when logging into my teacher account.

• Login works fine
• I can access: Account info and Courses.
• Courses: The course list looks fine, but when entering a course, the content isn't complete - my home page doesn't look right, and I can't see any of my assignments among other issues.
• Dashboard: where course tiles should be are blinking grey blank tiles that don't do anything when pressed.
• Calendar: seems to try to load, but nothing comes up.
• Inbox: goes to a white screen
• Commons: goes to a white screen

At this point, I quit. Clearly, lots of things don't work right. Hopefully, someone who knows the tech details can help you out here - but at least I can confirm that it isn't just your device. :smileysilly:

When I first logged in, I got a banner announcement suggesting using the iPad app. Have you tried that approach?

The Canvas native apps aren't compatible with an iPad 4 because iOS 12 is required and the iPad 4 only goes to iOS 10. iOS Device Matrix - Google Sheets 

As for the mobile web browser (Safari and Chrome), my guess, because I can't test it, is they are also limited because of iOS 10. Even though Safari and Chrome do work on iOS 10, it's possible they are using an older version that is not supported by Canvas (which already has limited mobile web compatibility).
