When I have a calendar event created by an instructor that doesn't require an online submission how can I mark the event as completed?

No, you can't mark it as complete, but it should go away after the date/time it's listed on the calendar.

For anyone seeing this in the future, I made a free chrome extension in 2020 that accomplishes what @krinsj is asking here.  It's got some minor bugs (just refresh if anything weird happens...) and I'm not actively developing it anymore, but works great for checking stuff off that doesn't have a submission
