How do I connect to a professor as a StudentMentor to view the course syllabus?

Pamela,

I'm not familiar with the term StudentMentor as a Canvas role, but it could be that your school has something set up using that term.  Generally speaking though, it is the instructor of the class or some other Canvas admin who will need to add you to a course to be able to view any materials.  Users can't add themselves unless the course has been set up in a specific was for self-enrollment and I think that is unlikely in this scenario.
