Copied announcement doesn't show up in students "to do" list

I just followed the instructions to copy an announcement to other courses. However, the announcement doesn't show up in students' "to do" lists – at least not in my student view. How will students know this announcement has been posted?

Announcements do not trigger a To-Do list entry - neither the original nor a copy - only assignments and specifically designated pages display in the To-Do list.

If students have set their Notification Preferences to do so, they will receive a notification from Canvas when a new announcement is posted. See, How do I set my Canvas Notification preferences as a student?

Another option you have as an instructor is to set your Canvas course so that recent announcements are displayed on the course Home page. See, How do I show recent announcements on the course Home Page?
