Copy content from a course you were a student for to a course you are a TA for

I am a TA for a course that I took a year back and I am trying to copy over the modules and content from the old course page to the new one. Unfortunately when I go to import course content on Canvas the only course options are the ones I am a TA for, not the ones I took as a student. Is there a way to copy the content from the old course I was a student for to the one I am the TA for?

You would need to be upgraded from the student level in the first course. Students don't get access to do this (I understand you are now a TA but the old class you are still a student, roles are unique to courses and not system wide) as this would give them access to lots of information that should not and in many cases legally can't see.
