As an instructor, there are times where I need to work in my Canvas course late at night. Specifically, with discussion boards (and generally, anywhere), has Canvas considered the possibility of allowing replies to student posts be scheduled for a later time so that my discussion replies do not send any alerts to student subscribers at an inappropriate hour of the night? I know I can delay the posting of announcements. Having the same ability to schedule discussion replies would be great!

Hi @ajohns33 what a great question, and good on you for being such a dedicated teacher, as well as considering the notification possibility when posting late at night.
As far as I know the possibility of delaying the post is not possible.
However, it's a pretty cool idea. Perhaps you could submit a feature idea. Here's the process:

I appreciate that you think this idea is worth moving forward, but the links you included don't seem to go anywhere related to this proposal. I searched all of the new ideas, and nothing related to this comes up, so it doesn't really seem accurate to characterize this as "solved." This has always been such a significant problem with Canvas, only made worse during the pandemic. Can we open this discussion back up? I imagine the original post here would have a lot more interaction if it weren't marked as solved despite that lack of a solution and seeming lack of a proposal to support. Thanks!
Further to that you could ask your students to change their notification setting s for discussions perhaps.
Here's a guide to share with them about that:
