Do I have to align a quiz to a rubric before seeing results in the Learning Mastery Gradebook?

Hello there, my school is used to using Mastery Connecting so we can get immediate feedback on our standards. We give grades but we are also standards-based. We would love to only use Canvas, however, this has been a very confusing process. Our district set up the outcomes for us. Teachers were under the assumption that once we used "New Quizzes" option, and aligned each question to an outcome, it would show in the Learning Mastery Gradebook? We can see standard results only when we click on the quiz reports, but not in the LMG. Someone had mentioned we need to add a rubric, as well. Im a little confused on why we would need to do this? Add the standards twice? As an outcome along in a rubric? this makes no sense and no one at Canvas can seem to answer my question when I call.

While setting up Outcomes, I've also experienced that it can be a bit confusing. What I've understood, is that when you're using Quizzes, and want to use Outcomes, you're actually supposed to link three things to each other: Quizzes, Rubrics, and Outcomes. In this manual, I've chosen to uncheck Use this criterion for scoring, but I'm not sure whether that would also apply to your situation. I hope that this helps a bit.
