Hi  @dorig  Welcome to the worldwide Canvas Community! You may not be aware of it, but you posted your question to a community of Canvas users where we talk about things Canvas-related and share information about best practices. But since each institution has its own email service, you are better off directing your first concern to your institution's technical support area, which appears to be located here: https://www.washington.edu/uwit/divisions/css/ .  As for your second question, you are receiving messages in your Canvas Inbox automatically because the majority of Canvas institutions (including my own) have their student and faculty email addresses directly tied to their Canvas account.  You are receiving the notifications to your .edu account based on the Notification preferences that are available in Canvas, though you CAN edit these preferences.  I cannot tell if you are a faculty member or a student, although the way to edit your notification settings are pretty much the same, regardless.  Here is some help from a student perspective:  How do I set my Canvas notification preferences as a student?   There is additional information regarding your Canvas Inbox here: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10573-4212710324

I hope this helps a bit, Dori, to at least get you started!

@dorig , I’m not sure if you realized it or not, but you posted your question in the global Community of all Canvas Users. As such, we don’t really have access to school or course specific information.

As to your question, Canvas Inbox and messaging is separate from your .edu email. You will not receive this email in Canvas. Yet, depending on your Canvas Notification settings, you probably have your Canvas messages forwarded out to your .edu email.

As to where your .edu email lives, I did some searching and I couldn’t find the exact address, but  I did find the following page that explains your different email options and provides the link to both - Connect & Communicate | IT Connect

I’d recommend starting there and if you can’t find it, then contact IT support on your campus.
