Google Cloud assignments opening as a new assignment the next day.

I have a couple of students that when they opened their assignment from yesterday, the assignments were blank, all their work from the other day was missing.  We looked in their google drive and found yesterday's work, but they can't submit it because that is not the Slides file pulling up in Canvas.  It is only one or two students. Everyone else was able to open their assignment and pick up where they left off.  

All the students are using Chromebooks.
