Where do I find the HTML editor? I am trying to embed a google slide. I have the embed code but it doesn't say pages on the right side of my screen. I have created 3 courses. Where do the pages come from?

It sounds like you are using the New Rich Content Editor (RCE). A lot has changed from the original RCE and the new one is still changing itself.
The HTML editor is now the < /> link at the bottom of the textbox.
The Content Selector that was present in the Classic RCE has been replaced by a grouping of buttons on the toolbar. Admittedly, it requires too many clicks when compared to the old RCE to add course content. That is part of what is begin considered for change. See RCE Updates - Summer 2020 for more information about that.
For now, there is a whole section in the Canvas Instructor Guide on the New Rich Content Editor that will explain how the new RCE functions.
