Help embedding images

Jump to solution

I know this should be something easy to do, but I'm having no luck embedding images into my learning modules.  When my students click on a module, I want them to see an image. I'm only able to post a link to the image, but I want the image itself to be visible once they open the module.  Do you know how I do this?

Hi mmiller@sheridan.edu...

I see.  Please check out one of these Guides which should help you display an image inside of a page within your course...depending on where you are getting the image from:

How do I embed images from Canvas into the Rich Content Editor as an instructor?

How do I embed images from Flickr Creative Commons in the Rich Content Editor as an instructor?

I hope these Guides will help you.  Please let us know if you have any additional questions...thanks.

Hello mmiller@sheridan.edu Welcome to the Canvas Community.  Thank you for posting your question.  When you say "open a module" are you referring to the "Modules" index page (when you click on the "Modules" button in your course)?  Is that where you would like an image displayed...on each of your modules within the "Modules" page?  If that is the case, there really isn't a way to do that...other than to possibly put an icon next to the title name.  There might be some ideas in this thread, https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/6185-add-images-to-modules" modifiedtitle="true" title="Add Im..., that may be of help.

Or, if you are just wanting to know how to embed an image on a page of content within your modules, there are Guides for that, too.

If you could help to clarify, that would be great...thanks!

Hello!  I would like for my students to be able to click on the modules I've built in the Modules area of Canvas and see an image, but I don't see a way to do that.  I've heard that I can create a Page with an image on it, then embed that into a Module, but when I do that, the image itself doesn't display itself, just the link to the image.  I want my students to immediately see the image when they click on the module and not have to open a .jpg.
