I am really struggling with how to make a home page using Front Page as the option. Can anyone help??

 @newmans ‌ please see How do I change the Course Home Page? and https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-26409-how-do-i-set-a-front-page-in-a-course- these two links have some helpful setup information around how home pages and the front page are configured. This said, you'll manage most of this from the Pages tab in your course navigation, where you will ultimately create the page you want to use as a course home page. Does that help?
