How do I copy an assignment from one module into another module within the same course?

Jump to solution

I have created a rubric inside of an assignment. I want that assignment to be the same in 8 modules in the same course.

I can copy to into each module, edit the name, but then it changes the name for all previous copies I have made.

Hi @JamieRobinson

The trick is not to copy; but rather, to duplicate. This guide will get you there and I just tested this in a sandbox to make sure it works: How do I duplicate an assignment?

It will duplicate in the same module, but you can drag it to the correct module. It will append "Copy" to the assignment title, but you can edit the title; and the best thing is that this doesn't edit the title on the original? It also creates a Gradebook column for the duplicated assignment.

Enjoy,

Kelley

Hi,

I think you can prevent this behaviour by copying the previous copy. So copy first item into second module, copy the copy in the second module into the third module and so on.
