How do I create a downloadable audio file in either an assignment or page?

I'm an orchestra director, and I'm trying to create an assignment that contains a downloadable "click-track" audio file for students to download onto either their own computers or devices. They will listen to this while recording their part into a Canvas assignment. Any help is great!

I apologize if I'm not understanding snugent, but the OP asked about an audio file and you replied about a video file.

When I click on my audio file, I don't have the controls indicated in the solution for video options.
