How do I remove the course summary from the syllabus tab after importing course content from a previous course?

I imported the course from last year without dates, but the list of assignments, quizzes, etc. still show up underneath the syllabus tab / course content. Is there a way to remove this list?

As far as I remember, that list is populated automagically based on the content in the course. You could go to the course settings then select Navigation, and hide the Syllabus menu item, which I think would meet your needs https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12933
