How to Remove an Attachment from an Announcement?

Jump to solution

I attached an image to an announcement I was writing and was going to send. But, I decided not to attach the image, but I cannot figure out for the life of me how to remove the attachment from the announcement I am writing. How is this done?

Hi  @burgerk  Welcome to the Canvas Community.

I assume that when you are in edit mode in the announcement that you can delete from there.

Here's a guide to get you there https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10407-415250732

Hello,

That page you linked to was not helpful. It did not explain how to delete the attachment, but thanks for the offer.

It has been a while since I posted this question and I cannot remember how I solved my problem, but probably by just creating a new announcement with the same text but without the attached image. And then, since earlier versions of Canvas would not permit deleting announcements, I probably just set the post date of the old announcement to Dec 31, 9999. I see now in the new version of Canvas that our school has installed, that now there is an X button beside the attachment file name and it is a simple matter to click on the X button to delete the attachment.

Cheers to everyone.
