How to clear a quiz attempt in Canvas

Jump to solution

I have a student that needs to retake a quiz.  How do I clear her quiz attempt to allow her to retake the quiz?  The quiz is set for all students to take the quiz only once, but I believe she has an appropriate exception.

Hi mollenkopfdl@unk.edu  and, mollenkopfdl@unk.edu Welcome to the Canvas Community!

In Canvas, you cannot clear a quiz attempt, but you can use Quiz Moderation to give a student an extra attempt at the quiz. When a quiz is set for single attempt, Canvas will retain the highest score.

Kelley,

Thank you. I moderated the quiz for the one student. I am going to let her try it out ☺ We’ll see how it goes.

It actually goes very well. Trouble-free no less. This is also the tool you use to add extra attempt time accommodations for students, and is als a quick and easy way to see who has, and who hasn't attempted the quiz.

Kelley,

Yes, I saw that the extra time option was there to accommodate students with disabilities or other needs. I think that is great.
