How to delete student's submission and open it to them to resubmit new material?

How do you delete a student's first submission to an assignment and then open it up so they can submit new material to the same assignment?

Basically, Canvas assignments allow unlimited multiple attempts; no need to delete previous submissions. The student just needs to re-submit. The student cannot review previous submissions, just the last one they submitted. However, when you are grading you can view all attempts but the most recent attempt will show first for you.

Now, if your assignment has already closed- you will need to re-assign the assignment to that individual student (referred to as differentiated assignment) so they can re-submit.
