How to make Google Slide Templets work in Canvas

So I used google slides last year and created templets, and within those templets I pushed them out to students and when they opened them it became their document.  They then they were able to answer on the document, and I could see it in real time.  Is there a way to do this in Canvas?  I have provided screen shots to show what I did.  If there are any videos on this that would be great.  I ihave watched the one Kat did over and over again it is great!

Just so you understand, where you see the AH, is where the student would click a text box would appear and then they would put the right answer.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know if this is a perfect answer to your question, but have you looked into using the Kami extension? It allows students to mark up documents, such as Google Slides, and PDFs, with text, highlighting, even video. Canvas has an extension for it as does Google Chrome.
