I divide my class into discussion groups. Each discussion group will stay intact for the full term and engage in various discussion boards together. I will get a notification when a student makes an initial post on the discussion board. However, if I respond to any of the posts, I don't get a notification if a student responds to me. There is no "subscribe" button in the lower right corner of the discussion board. This is a huge barrier for me effectively managing the discussion boards.
