I can only see one section in speedgrader

I have my classes cross-listed. Just recently, I can only see one of three sections in speedgrader. What can I do to fix this? Thank you!

Hi  @100710  Welcome to the Canvas Community. If you are using the New Gradebook and at any point filtered to display just one section or another, this carries over into SpeedGrader, as explained here: How do I filter columns by type in the New Gradebook?   If you are in SpeedGrader already, the quickest immediately solution is to click the drop-down arrow at the top that is displaying a student's name.  When you click it, you will likely see wording such as Showing: [your section number].  Hover over that, and the menu will cascade to the left that allows you to select all sections.  That should take care of it.

The next time you're on the main landing page for SpeedGrader, though, you may want to remove the filter there, as well.  These filters are "sticky" settings, so it's easy to filter things at some point and then forget to remove the filter later.

Thanks, this was very helpful. This is a major design flaw in the Canvas software interface, I hope they will fix it. It took me a lot of trial and error before I finally found your comment and the (highly) counterintuitive dropdown menu that appears by a student's name to enable me to see the other section of my class! Thanks for taking the time to walk us through it.

I'm glad your post brought this question back to the top of the list.  I learned something new today.

I have never really considered it an issue - because I knew about filtering/viewing by sections in the gradebook and if you have the gradebook filtered to a section then speed grader goes into that section only.  I also knew about the student list - I use it to grade 2 or 3 student submissions that come in at different times - So I scroll to find that student.  However, I never noticed the top entry which is for section selection - I am wondering if that is a recent additiion.  

In answer to your question about a serious flaw - I really don't think so.  It is more an issue with how the information in instructor manual information can be accessed.    The reason I say that is in the instructor guide index page for speed grader the following entry is the third one in the list:

This document shows that information.  I think it becomes one of all users (myself included) to make an effort to look in the instructors guide to find the answer - the problem is with what I am thinking I  need to look for may not be the words used in the guide.  I have not looked, but there may be a video or a page of how to find information in the instructors guide.

I know for me, the instructors guide is usually lower on my list of places to look for an answer - although I am beginning to think that it should be the first.  I have the attitude of I know I can figure this out I don't need to read the guide/manual.  But as usual the answer is always in the manual - you just have to read it.  So as one of my professors use to say - RTFP (Read the Fun Problem), so that becomes for me now RTFM - read the fun manual (although I always substitute another F word for fun).

I'm having the same problem.  I have 1 class with 3 sections.  In SpeedGrader I'm forced to select 1 of the sections and do not have an option to select all in the dropdown.
