I can login to Canvas on safari but cannot access any course materials which have been uploaded and I cant login at all on chrome

Are you on an iOS device or using a Macbook?
I recommend to some of my students to use Mozilla Firefox to be able to view content in Canvas

If you can't see your classes in the dashboard you can try checking ALL COURSES in the global navigation to see if the courses are published.
How do I customize my Courses list as a student?

What are the basic computer specifications for Canvas?
