I need to add an External App so it Shows up in the 'Hidden Area' of Course Navigation

I have online content from Cengage Learning. My Site Admin has added the App and it shows up in External Apps, but it is a crucial step that the Cengage Learning App shows up in in the 'Hidden Area' of Course Navigation in Settings. The online material may only be accessed by creating an 'Access Token' so we cannot just add an external link to a module.
Is there a way to modify the App Placement? Does this require XML code to be entered when manually adding the App? Also what App placement, if any, needs to be selected for me to use the online content properly? I have looked at some of the App Placements and the following seem to be common:
Assignment Selection
Editor Button
Link Selection
Homework Submission
Any help will be greatly appreciated, classes start very soon, thanks in advance!
