Importing modules with badges

I have created a module that I have placed in the Commons for faculty at my college to import into their classes if they want. The module as originally created includes the option to earn a badge upon completion of the module. My question is, will that badge option still be available to students who complete the module from the course into which it was imported? Or, would faculty need to create/turn on the badge option in their course?
